Started with Josh Trickell's book and, with some minor variations, am still doing it the same way. Never found any reason to complicate things unlike a lot of folks on the net. Everything runs fine and, when disassembled, looks great. I don't have any interest in making an ASTM spec product (it's been suggested that the specs were implemented to weed out the little guys), just good fuel and three plus years down the road, I've had no problems.
500 Bill Campbells huh. Well, they say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
Not so cold last night but it's zeroF and dropping at the moment.
I don't know how profitable it is if I count my time, but when diesel was US$5.15/gal and #2 was US$4.50, it was hard to miss. I wouldn't even bother to try to compete at todays prices although some of my very green customers still stop by. My production costs are real low, power coming from either the sun or a bio powered generator, the equipment is all home made and many of the transactions are...shall we say "informal"
Chuckling ... Well, I found that I'm on facebook and didn't even know it. Apparently when I responded to an email from a friend I was creating a profile? I really like this site because of the focus. Undoubtedly a lot more of the same out there but it hasn't crossed my path. Sure can gobble up the time though, I've been going to bring in firewood all morning and I'm still in my slippers!!
Dang it Michelle...are you trying to expand my horizons lol. I'm a relative novice to this digital stuff having recently aquired internet through the miracles of satellite. I'll look for you.
Renting -I didn't pick up on that. Wow, that opens up all kinds of possibilities. You retain ownership and quality control of your feedstock. I could pick at your brain for hours on this one.
Speaking of fried food, I've completely lost my taste for it. I used to love the jalepeno poppers, fries, wings and all that but now it just smells like the stuff I pour in my tank. Yuck.
Hey Michelle, I'm curious about the Everpure Biodiesel Co-op. What's that all about. I do a little brewing myself - made for a nice additional income til the petro price took a dive
