A LOT going on here this spring! Coming together with many other folks---well, to us it FEELS like 'many'....and doing a lotta farming and animal work as usual.

Great to hear from you, man! Sounds like it's being a challenge in a lotta ways on the land this winter....what caused the bitterness you refer to? REALLY hope all that gets ironed out. WE ALL NEED EACH OTHER NOW more than ever before!! The storm is coming hard upon us all now, and we can't let go of each other, not of a single dear one. We must see CLEARLY. So important at this time.
It's so hard to do anything counter to the er...Matrix, ain't it? "They" say that by nature we humans are selfish, and I have to admit that a lot of times in my communal life experiences I would have to agree with that. But as ol' Abe Lincoln once said, we DO have "better angels of our nature..." That is what the coming-together, which we also feel a deep need for, appeals to, and answers, when it's all done rightly.
Hang in there, good buddy, it's worth it. If it's all done right, and comes together right, then your daughter will agree that it's worth it, too, when she's trying to raise her own child and can call back on bright memories spent joyously in community. But I do know it can be hard.
Glad to hear that you're workin' a paying gig right now, and that your bus will be getting some needed improvements to help you in the daily life.
Life here is getting better, I think. Austin and Tori are coming to join us; they left upstate NY today. Got an e-mail that they're crashing in a Day's Inn in NE PA tonite. Boy talk about a long -assed drive! Pretty much from the Atlantic to the Pacific, 'cept inland a bit in both cases.
It'll be soooooo sweet to have some good help and good company out here! Ma and I "ain't gettin' no younger", and it's hard to get the bales loaded and the critters fed and the firewood lugged, etc. every day.
We will do our best to help them get happily settled in and I really hope that this is a place which they find not only warm, safe and secure...but magical, beautiful, inspiring as well.

I've been to one Rainbow Family Gathering, all the kids were way cool, what was really awesome was the group mentality in which there was no real set leader, just of bunch of us easy-going kids singing, communing with nature, and just chilling, peace

Probably could only stay for a couple or few days.
