My husband and I have discussed looking for a commune in Oregon to help out at and live for a year on a trial type basis, so maybe more if we really fit in with the community. The funny thing is, I've been searching high and low on the internet under "Communes" and could not find much. I rather stumbled upon this group through a search on ning under "Sustainable Living" or "Homesteading" -can't remember which? I had no clue about the term "Intentional Communities". I love it!
Here's what we're looking for; A place in the Oregon, preferably Portland area. Something with a waldorf inspired way of life for the little ones. A place that believes in sustainability and organic farming. Crafting, music, and the love of the folk arts would be a great bonus! We do have skills to offer to this community. How would we go about finding one?
Thank you in advance for any help that you can offer in pointing us in the right direction!
So glad to be a part of this group!

Thank you so much Royce! After posting this I explored this site a bit more and found the resource button-wow! I found 2 communities that I was interested in finding more info about and emailed them. What an awesome directory :D

Talk to Joshua on this site, he has a community right there in your state. It's fairly new, about 2 years I think, and last I heard, making progress. Here's a link for some older pictures, but I don't think they have a web site for the overall details.

I just woke up so my memory is still fuzzy, so if I think on any more, I'll drop you a line. Hope this helps.
Peace and blessings to you and family,
